DFG premises in 53175 Bonn, main entrance Kennedyallee 40

1. Arrival by public transport 

Underground train: The stop Hochkreuz/Deutsches Museum on the underground lines 16 and 63 operated by the Bonn public transport authority is barrier-free, with a stepless exit at ground level in both directions of travel. The platforms also have tactile relief maps for people with visual impairments. The distance from there to the DFG Head Office is approximately 500 metres. The route includes two pedestrian crossings with traffic lights (some with acoustic signals) and does not include any major inclines.

Bus services: The stops "Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft" on bus services 631, 638 and N3 operated by the Bonn public transport authority are located approximately 20-50 metres from the main entrance to the DFG Head Office, depending on the direction of arrival. A pedestrian traffic light is also available here. The buses usually have a wheelchair ramp must can be manually operated by the bus driver.

2. Arrival by car

Address of the main building of the DFG Head Office for GPS systems: 53175 Bonn, Kennedyallee 40. 

The primary car park for DFG visitors with severe disabilities is located approximately 12 metres to the right of the access road leading to the main entrance at Kennedyallee 40. This car park is marked with the customary blue sign (white symbol of a person in a wheelchair on a blue background) and is clearly visible from the street. The DFG has additional parking spaces (outdoor and underground car park) that are not directly accessible to the public. However, these parking spaces can be made available to people with disabilities as needed. If you have special needs due to a disability, please either get in touch with your contact person at the DFG in advance or consult the reception service on arrival: 0228-885-1 (switchboard). The DFG reception service can also be reached in person at the entrance at Kennedyallee 40.

3. Toilets for people with disabilities

• On the first floor (high-rise building – room numbers starting with ‘H’) 

Note: The DFG also uses premises in the neighbouring Wissenschaftszentrum, Ahrstr. 45, 53175 Bonn. Barrier-free toilets are to be found here in the foyer next to the lifts in Tower A; the key is available from the reception at the main entrance of the Wissenschaftszentrum.

4. Meeting and conference rooms in the DFG building, Kennedyallee 40

All meeting and conference rooms are barrier-free. Three lifts are available. The building has six larger-sized meeting rooms (the number of each is indicated on the map (in German only)(externer Link)):
