As part of the initiative Networking for Research – Universities of Applied Sciences and Researchers Worldwide, the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation) announces a networking event on 24 April 2024, 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. (UTC+2). It aims to bring together researchers from German Universities of Applied Sciences (UAS) with researchers from Scotland and thus enable scientific exchange.
The DFG is partnering with SULSA (Scottish Universities Life Sciences Alliances), supported by Research Innovation Scotland, to deliver this initiative in Scotland.
For this initiative, Health and Environment serves as an umbrella term to capture research on humans, animals or the environment which will benefit the future health of the planet and those that inhabit it. Below, some key topics are listed as examples, however, we welcome submissions from researchers in any discipline working to improve human health, animal health, environmental health or food security:
The virtual event involves researchers presenting specific research projects or their research focus in 5-minute pitches. This will be followed by 10-minute discussions. Researchers from all topic-related disciplines and subject areas are invited to participate.
Short abstracts and posters including a substantive reference can be submitted under the link below by 6 March 2024 at 11:59 p.m. (UTC+2).
The event will be held as part of the DFG initiative Networking for Research (UDIF-HAW). This initiative offers topical and partner-based networking events and delegation trips. The objectives are to support the internationalisation of research at Universities of Applied Sciences (UAS) and to raise awareness of DFG funding formats among researchers at UAS.
An information session on funding possibilities for research projects will follow the matchmaking event. The date will be communicated subsequently.
