Work-Life Balance

Logo: Vereinbarkeit von Beruf und Familie

The DFG Head Office attaches great importance to offering its employees a wide range of options when it comes to striking an optimum balance between their work at the DFG and their private lives.

This is reflected in the fact that the DFG was successful in obtaining certification under audit berufundfamilie®, an initiative run by the non-profit Hertie Foundation which supports the compatibility of career and family.
This certification is available to employers who have adhered for at least nine years to a strategically planned personnel policy that takes family commitments and life phases into account, subject to audit by the Hertie Foundation.

We are pleased to offer our employees a range of initiatives and measures to foster their work-life balance and the compatibility of career and family, including the following:

  • Flexible working hours with no core times: Boundary hours from 6 am to 9 pm; overtime can be flexibly reduced by means of time off or flexitime days
  • Extensive range of part-time models and options
  • Sabbatical
  • Mobile work: Mobile work on up to three days per week for all employees – providing the work assignment allows for this. Colleagues come together at the Head Office to engage in face-to-face interaction at least two days per week.
  • A wide-ranging programme in the area of health promotion
  • In-house sports club
