Purpose
To facilitate a workshop for early career investigators in order to prepare early-career researchers for carrying out their own research projects independently and to encourage them to lead their first projects and attract third-party funding.
Eligibility Requirements
Established researchers in all research disciplines at German research institutes are eligible to apply. These may submit proposals at the request of the pertinent review board or DFG project group, or on their own initiative.

The workshops for early career investigators are aimed at research areas where early career researchers are lacking. The objective is to provide early career researchers with encouragement and support for preparing their own research projects and attracting third-party funding for their first ventures into independent project leadership. Workshops for early career investigators must be thematically restricted in order to promote scientific exchange within their frameworks.
Type and Extent of Funding
Travel and accommodation costs for the organisers, plus up to 20 participants in the workshop for early career investigators and external researchers. Also covers miscellaneous costs involved in holding workshops and potential colloquia, plus up to 10,000 euros in coordination costs.
