(10.04.21) The 9th Annual Meeting of the Network of Chilean Researchers in Germany – Red INVECA e.V. will take place on 15 October from 10 to 13 Chilean time (15 to 18 German time). Biotechnology, energy decarbonisation and social changes will be the main topics of discussion of the 2021 virtual edition.
The annual meeting of the INVECA Network was established to generate spaces for dialogue to strengthen relations between scientific organisations in Chile and Germany, including official entities from both countries. Since the first meeting in Berlin in 2012, the INVECA Network has regularly convened Chilean researchers living in Germany to discuss academic issues, science policies, and the potential for the development of science based on shared experiences.
The 2021 edition programme features three parallel workshops to discuss biotechnology, decarbonisation of energy and social change in the post-covid era. In addition to the workshops, the event will also feature a panel discussion on “The Challenges of International Cooperation between the European Union, Germany and Chile”, in which the DFG Liaison Scientist in Chile, Professor Dr. Gudrun Kausel, will participate. On the same panel will be Pablo Tello, Technical Advisor of GIZ in Chile, and Pedro Ivo Ferraz, head of the science department at the Brazilian Embassy in Germany.
The INVECA network is a non-governmental, independent and interdisciplinary entity that counts with a multidisciplinary team of researchers who are developing their research in Germany. The entity promotes interaction between these scientists and various actors related to the development of scientific research in different areas of knowledge, with the aim of contributing to scientific development and education through cooperation between Chile and Germany.
