The Asia-Pacific region has steadily gained in importance for researchers from Germany due to very dynamic developments in recent years. The DFG maintains trusting relationships with a large number of partner organisations in the region, some of which go back more than 40 years.

The DFG’s priority fields of action in the Asia-Pacific region are the further intensification of international cooperation opportunities between researchers, scientific institutions and funding organisations and also the identification and development of new cooperation potential. With the Sino-German Center for Science Promotion (CDZ) in Beijing and the DFG Offices in New Delhi and Tokyo, the DFG is also locally represented in selected priority countries.

A*STAR-DFG Joint Call on Sustainable Chemistry

Recognising the importance of international collaboration in promoting scientific discoveries, a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed by the Agency for Science, Technology and Research, Singapore (A*STAR) and DFG.

Funding opportunity for Korean-German Workshops and Research Visits

The DFG and the NRF are providing a co-funding opportunity for Korean-German joint workshops and research visits. Proposals must be submitted by 16 April 2025.

DFG Consolidates Cooperation with Singapore

From December 7 to 12, a DFG delegation headed by Vice President Peter H. Seeberger visited Singapore, where support was provided for the Applied Chemistry Symposium and talks were held with partner organisations.
